The Paramo Company has replaced the control system of the oil mixing plant in its Kolín business unit with a new one. The investment into the equipment upgrade amounted to 6.95 million CZK.Pardubice, 29. 2. 2012 - The ability of the new control system to produce oil in the required quality, quantity and frequency has been recently confirmed by a guarantee test. "The original system, which had been supplied by the French Courbon Company was morally and technically outdated after 15 years of operation, unavailability of spare parts started to manifest itself and the costs of its maintenance were high," Bohuslav Mokříž, the head of the Technical Support Department of the Kolín unit of Paramo explains the reasons for the investment.
The order for the replacement of the control system was won by the Yokogawa Company and its subcontractor Proteco in tender proceedings. The object of the delivery was replacement of the original system with a new one while maintaining the measurement and control filed instrumentation, the electric installation and its cabling leading to the existing terminal boards in the switchboards in the switching station and production plant. FCS (Field Control Station) controllers with I/O (input/output) cards were newly installed. Further, system and communication cabling was upgraded, new operator panels in the production plant were installed, etc.
Reliable operation of the oil mixing plant was proved by its test operation, where it met the requirements for the production and delivery of final oil to the maximum extent.
