Pardubice – 20 September 2012 – The project for 12 million crowns was co-financed by the European Union from Environmental Operation Programme funds. Paramo obtained a subsidy equal to 39% of the eligible costs.
The investment also included the construction of an emergency catchment pit around the 47 storage tanks at the oil mixing plant. Compared to the past, oil substances are now stored in accordance with the best available technology. "By implementing the project, Paramo fulfils environmental legislative requirements," notes Bohuslav Mokříž, Head of the technical support department at the Paramo operations centre in Kolín with respect to the environmental importance of the investment.
All work on the reconstruction and connection of the tanks to the oil mixing plant system took place under full operation. According to Bohuslav Mokříž, this fact was the most complex during renovation, as were the excavation works in places where there are very shallow pipelines and pumps in the ground.
The contract for the reconstruction of the storage tanks was awarded in a public tender to the company KOSS, with which Paramo signed a contract last October. Implementation work on the pit started one month later in the same year.
The work, thanks to which industrial pollution in Kolín will decline, was inspected in recent days by representatives of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic. "Apart from a substantive inspection, they were particularly interested in the fulfilment of the conditions stipulated for the subsidy programmes. The inspection found no deficiencies in the implementation of the project," concluded Milan Kopic, Head of renewal of basic funds for Paramo.
