Pardubice, 22 March 2011 – Paramo has acquired a subsidy for employee education from the European Social Fund through the Operation Programme Human Resources and Employment and the state budget of the Czech Republic. Not just for its own employees, but also for the employees of project partners.
The decision to grant a subsidy of CZK 9,353,731 was issued on 14 December 2010 by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. A "temporary framework" will be used to pay 100% of the project costs.
"The main objective of the project realised by Paramo in cooperation with its partners Unipetrol RPA, Unipetrol Doprava and Unipetrol Services, is to improve the key competences of employees in favour of higher competitiveness both of the company and of its individual employees on the labour market. The target group includes foremen, sales and management employees," explains Tomáš Krejčík, Project Manager.
The project, which is based on an assessment of education in the past period and analysis of educational needs, will include 270 employees, of which 170 are foremen and 60 are sales employees from all three companies. Furthermore, 20 employees from Paramo will take English language lessons and another 20 will participate in a financial management course.
"The joint education of employees of Paramo and its partners within the project will enable the required exchange of experience from working in similar positions at various companies, both in terms of educating foremen and sales employees. With regards to rising competition on the market, it is desirable for the sales skills of traders and their approach to customers to improve continuously. Language lessons and courses in financial management were identified by the management of Paramo as essential for the middle and top management employees," concludes Tomáš Krejčík.
PARAMO, a.s., a member of the UNIPETROL/PKN ORLEN Group, specializes in the processing of petroleum into refinery and asphalt products and in the production of lubricating and process oils, including any follow-up and auxiliary products. In addition to that, the company purchases and processes oil hydrogenates and hydrocrackates produced by Unipetrol RPA. The intermediate products obtained are used by the company in the production of base and lubricating oils with a very low sulphur content. The company has 668 employees.
