Pardubice, 18.2.2011 - The prestigious award was awarded to Paramo for significant innovation in production technology, which ensures the optimum performance of the road binding material MOFALT SMA 45 Extra, and in particular its high resistance to plastic deformation.
"The binding material with modified elastomer terpolymer RET is intended for roads with a high volume of traffic, i.e. motorways, city intersections, bridges and junctions. MOFALT SMA 45 Extra has been used on many important road construction projects, including the Prague ring road," explained Jiří Plitz, Head of Fuel and Asphalt Development at Paramo.
Products and technology in the 3rd year of the competition, announced by the Czech Academy of Construction, were evaluated based on submitted and exhibited documentation and samples. Members of the jury, together with Chairman Petr Syrový, evaluated and assessed entries based on their technical parameters, innovativeness, environmental soundness and their significance of use. The modified asphalt MOFALT SMA 45 Extra successfully met all competition criteria.
The Gold Award for Paramo was presented to the Head of Fuel and Asphalt Development, Jiří Plitz by Deputy Transport Minister, Ivo Toman. Awards were presented at a public ceremony on the 17th February at the Foundation for Architecture and Construction in Prague.
PARAMO, a.s., a member of the UNIPETROL/PKN ORLEN Group, processes crude oil to refinery and asphalt products, and also to lubricating and process oils, incl. subsequent and ancillary products. The refinery purchases and processes oil hydrogen and hydrocrack products. Intermediate products are used in the production of basic oils and lubricating oils very low of sulphur. The company gives employment to 668 people.
